How it works in Saint Paul

The rules, in plain words.

How does street sweeping work in Saint Paul?

During the fall sweep, temporary No Parking signs go up 24 to 48 hours ahead: no parking 8 AM to 6 PM on the block's sweep date.

When does it apply?

Fall sweep Oct 19 to Nov 18, 2026, one day per block; the City can move a date for weather. Parked cars can be ticketed and towed.

What does a ticket cost?

CURB doesn't have the amount of a ticket here yet, but the car can be towed.

Can CURB remind me?

Yes. Tap your curb on the map, then Sweep alerts: a push the evening before and 30 minutes before it starts, on Saint Paul time, or put it in your calendar. An overnight sweep gets one alert around 9 PM the evening before. On iPhone, add the map to your Home Screen first.

Is CURB free?

Yes. Free, with no account and no ads, and open source on GitHub. CURB started in San Francisco; the Saint Paul map is built on the City's open data.

Holidays

The City's holidays.

Street sweeping stops on these holidays, and CURB's colors and alerts skip them.

The receipts

Where the data comes from

Dates come from the City's Street Sweeping layer, the data behind its Street Sweep Map, which gives one date per block and no side, so both sides show it. Dates can move on short notice: the temporary signs on the block win. Arterial overnight bans (hours only on the signs) and snow emergencies are not shown. The City provides its GIS data as is, with no warranty; its full notice comes with the data file. The posted sign always wins: temporary signs and holidays override everything here.
