How does street sweeping work in Denver?

Posted blocks are swept once a month, April to November: each side on its own week and weekday (the 2nd Tuesday, say), 8 AM to 5 PM. Some downtown streets are swept overnight, 2 to 6 AM.

When does it apply?

Day sweeps skip City holidays. A $50 ticket, and the car may be relocated for a $100 fee.

What does a ticket cost?

A ticket is $50, and on some streets the car can be towed. The City's page ↗

Can CURB remind me?

Yes. Tap your curb on the map, then Sweep alerts: a push the evening before and 30 minutes before it starts, on Denver time, or put it in your calendar. An overnight sweep gets one alert around 9 PM the evening before. On iPhone, add the map to your Home Screen first.

Is CURB free?

Yes. Free, with no account and no ads, and open source on GitHub. CURB started in San Francisco; the Denver map is built on the City's open data.

Holidays

The City's holidays.

Most rules stop on these holidays. Rules that run anyway, like some overnight ones, stay on: CURB's colors and alerts already know which.

Where the data comes from

Schedules come from Denver's street centerline, which codes each side's week and weekday, for the areas the City posts. The hours and the overnight sweeps come from the City's sign inventory; 95% of its sweeping signs match the code of the side they stand on. The posted sign always wins: temporary signs and holidays override everything here.
